Zion National Park Information

The new Zion National Park Visitors Center offers a state of the art visitor experience, and is only a 5 minute shuttle ride from Flanigan's Villas. Most notable is its outstanding outdoor interpretative center.

While many enjoy the top-down view of the nearby Grand Canyon, Zion Canyon is most easily experienced from the bottom up. In sheer magnitude and color, Zion is very likely one of the most awe-inspiring National Parks in the world with the annual number of visitors ranging over 3.5 million.

Elevations in the Park range from 4,000 feet in the valley floors to nearly 9,000 feet at the highest points. Rock climbers and hiking enthusiast from around the world come here to experience the vertical climbs and zig-zagging trails, which ascend to pinnacles, domes, arches, and spires.

The upper layers of porous sandstone allow water to seep thousands of feet through the rock, but the more dense layers force the water to exit and pour down the faces of the sheer walls. Where the water leaves the rock hanging gardens and natural stains line the walls, creating a tropical paradise in the midst of the otherwise arid desert surroundings.

Zion Nation Park Entrance Fees

7 Day Pass $25.00 per private vehicle or per family (if walking in).

National Parks Annual Pass is $80.00 for 1 year and gives access to any U.S. National Park.

Zion Canyon Shuttle

To reduce traffic and to improve the park experience, a new bus transportation system started operation on May 26, 2000. It runs during the busy season March through October. One loop includes stops in Zion Canyon, and the second includes stops in the town of Springdale. Parking is available throughout Springdale and inside the south park entrance.

Riding the shuttle in the park and Springdale is free and all visitors must use the shuttle buses to access Zion Canyon (March – October).

Only the scenic drive is closed to private vehicles. All other roads in the park remain open to private vehicles.

Winter Season

Consider staying in Zion Canyon in the winter season with mild temperatures, fewer visitors, serene views and less expensive lodging rates.

Other Nearby Attractions

The north rim of the Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon National Park and numerous State Parks are a day trip from the Villas. Why not make Flanigan's Villas your base camp for all your adventures.

“The best stay in Zion”

We stayed in Villa #2. It was wonderful. Everything you need and a great place to come home to after big days of hiking. We were 4 adults and they made the twin beds in the second bedroom into a king to accommodate us. Nice pool and hot tub too across the street at the main Inn. Great stay and perfect for family or friends.

What a delightful (stunning!) surprise to walk into the setting you have formed: textiles, art, textures, proportion, color, utility, & comfort. We've enjoyed al your wonderful thought & details, the Asian sensibility. Your own modest understatement. Best wishes for your daily endeavors. We certainly look forward to coming back!
